These past few days have been tearing me up inside little by little. I’ve been craving brownies and everything I see has been reminding me of that. I see a blonde at the park, blonde…blondie? BROWNIE? Jeez, what has happened to me?
Sometimes a keto diet can be a real pain on my temptation levels, and this week has really been killer. Normally I go after savory things but my cravings really need to be removed like a rotting wisdom tooth. I saw some low carb brownie recipes online and decided to alter it a bit to my own tastes. Rich cocoa powder sealed the deal on this one – cravings are now gone!

I have all the ingredients, yay! What size pan?
An 8×8 pan, but a 9×9 pan will work too 🙂
I usually use Swerve for my sugar replacement, any idea how much swerve would be needed instead of 9 packets of truvia?
Nicole, I’d say around 4 tablespoons if you are going to use Swerve instead. If you have stevia, you can do around 3 tablespoons Swerve and a few drops stevia (as Truvia is a mix of these 2).
Perfect! I have both. Love your blog. Been cooking off it at least 4 times a week 🙂
Glad you like it! I love hearing feedback, so feel free to give feedback on the recipes when you try them so either people can see how much you loved it, or I can tweak upcoming recipes to better suit that of my readers 🙂
This is a really fantastic recipe, Craig! I altered mine a little bit to sweeten them just a tad more, and I just tasted the batter – it’s almost indestinguishable from the classic sugar-filled mix! I was just wondering what the macro/nutritional breakdown would be for these, and what one serving would be 🙂 Thank you!
Ashley, I pulled these ones off of reddit (as stated) a long time ago. This was one of the first posts on the site, even. You’d have to do the macro counts yourself, unfortunately.
These are in the oven. Wish me luck!
Hope you liked them Elizabeth!
Delicious. I didn’t use dark baking cocoa so mine weren’t as dark but I did put dark chocolate chips on top. Very moist. I’m going to make them thinner and put frozen whipped cream on them for a keto ice cream sandwich.
Sounds awesome 🙂
Do you have the calorie and carbs breakdown for this recipe?
Unfortunately not, Veronica. This one is quite an old recipe and I only started doing macros about a month after I posted this one.
Just made these and accidentally left out the almond milk.. oops. They were still perfect! Very spongey and light
Glad to hear it!
To get the calorie count etc, just enter it into MyFitnessPal with the ingredients as a recipe. This is my version of it, using Lite salt. But yea: http://i.imgur.com/D3vBUyJ.png
Thanks for that, Brad 🙂

I’ve tried many keto desserts and they have been disappointing. I was very impressed with the flavor and texture of these brownies. After making the recipe several times, I think the key to its success is using very finely ground almond meal, 1/2 C of almond milk, the best quality cocoa, and making sure your ingredients are all room temperature. I used 3 tbsp. of Swerve and liquid stevia to taste. I also grease the bottom of the pan, but next time I will use parchment.
Thank you for all those great tips Sarah!
This looks delicious! I am totally craving some brownie action!!
can I use coconut milk instead of almond milk?
and per a lot of your recipes, I now have liquid Stevia, how much of that would I use in this recipe instead of Truvia packets??
Sure! Coconut milk should work great. My best guess for the sweetener conversion is about 1/2 tsp. If you’re comfortable tasting the batter before baking then you add more if you need it.
How much does 9 packets measure out to. I dont have truvia but I erythinol and splenda
9 packets is about 1/3 of a cup.
Question. If these are not very sweet as your post states, then why not just increase the sweetener? I mean, I want a sweet brownie. Not a bland tasteless brownie. I will be adding sugar free chocolate chips to my mix to increase the sweet factor. I’m just wondering why you would promote a bland brownie recipe?
Hi Kimberly, some people seem to be more sensitive to the sweeteners and find them super sweet. Some don’t find them sweet at all. So having recipes with different levels of sweetness helps everyone find something they can enjoy. You can of course adjust to taste.
