This is a super simple recipe that can complement almost any dish while still bringing plenty of fats to the table. Heck, you can even eat this as a lunch time salad if you’d like and feel full for hours afterward! This coleslaw has traditional flavors but the lemon juice pushes it over the edge.
You can always twist it up by adding your own flavor profile to this. Sesame oil and red pepper flakes, peanut butter and lime juice, give it a try and see what you like!

I’m starting to think you have a recipe for everything – I was just thinking coleslaw and bang. Ruled.me has a coleslaw recipe!
Haha, thanks 🙂 I’m trying to get as many recipes as I can on to the site so that if you want something for dinner, it’ll be there!
Made this with some smoked pulled pork shoulder and this low carb bbq sauce (recipe here with 1/2 the splenda – http://www.phlaunt.com/diab… ), and it came out amazing. Thanks for the recipe!
Lovely recipe Craig! We found that for a very refreshing bite we can slice a fennel up thinly and mix it with 300g of pre-shredded pointed cabbage. Mix with 2 portions of your dressing and serve alongside some good sausages, it’s delicious!
That sounds fantastic. I don’t get to cook with fennel much but I love the flavor. I’ll have to grab some next time I’m at the store. Thanks!
Made this yesterday with the addition of Srirachi and it was amazing.
Oooh! I love that stuff.
Do you have any recommendations for substitutions for mayo? It is a base for many sauces and I am allergic to eggs.
I don’t know what area you are in but if you can find the brand “Just Mayo” it is egg free. There is also a brand called Veganaise that can be found made with a few different oils, or even organic. Neither are perfect, but it’s the easiest way to substitute without eggs. If you are comfortable making your own you can find some recipes online for egg free mayo – probably even made with the oil that you prefer.
This looks amazing! Any idea roughly how many ounces or grams that 1/4 head of cauliflower
comes to?
Did you mean cabbage?
If so, it should be about 312 g or 11 ounces.
